Climate science society workshop: In the face of change, we need to foster inventiveness and clear-sightedness
This two-day workshop organised by Centrale Nantes and IRN GeoMech, aims to mobilise collective forces to find new directions towards a viable and resilient future.
From March 28, 2024 to March 29, 2024
All day
Journée Climat, Science, Société les 28 et 29 mars 2024
At a time of major environmental and societal upheaval, researchers, teachers and engineers working in the field of geoenvironmental mechanics want to contribute to a better understanding of the phenomena and impacts of climate change, so that we can adapt as effectively as possible.
It is also the first time that the field of geoenvironmental mechanics has taken the initiative to organise a multi-disciplinary meeting that includes players from civil society. We are aware that the engineering sciences can only provide part of the answer to a problem as far-reaching and unprecedented as climate change, particularly in terms of the societal problems that arise from it. We have therefore decided, as scientists and citizens, to call on colleagues from other fields as well as political leaders to contribute collectively to identifying the measures that need to be put in place to deal with the climate emergency.
The workshop will be held in French and the proceedings will be translated into English.
